| A lot has happened the last 3 weeks.
Went to Belknap Hot Springs 2 weekends ago with Teresa and Glen on a motor home weekend. Had a very nice time except that it pour on us. We still walked in the rain and said in the pool, temp - 99.
This last weekend went to Sacramento to surprise my son, KC. My little sister Tami went with me so surprised my big sister, Harri. Had a great short weekend as we flew home today. Was able to hear dwell, the group KC plays in. I really enjoy watching him play. The group sounded fantastic too. The kids really enjoyed the music. Wish we could have spent more time with him, but it was worth it for even the 4 hours we got.
Played hand and foot canasta all evening and laughed so hard. Had a great time. Played the best I ever had. Got great hands all evening. My aunt evy was playing with 10 decks instead of the 5 we should have been playing with.
The election turned out the way I liked at least for President that is. Some of the local stuff, well that is a differant story. The defining marriage between one man and woman passed, good. Repeal temp Multnomah Cty tax failed so we will have to pay 1.25% additional the next 2 years, bad. Ron Senseri for State Senate, lost, very bad. So you win some and you lose some.
Finished picking all the apples. Had about 400 lbs this year. Birds got a few but otherwise a great crop. Ruby has made apple sauce. Have 8 jars so far. Still have around 200 lbs.
It was great seeing KC. Sure do miss both my kids very much. Night all. Got to get to bed. | | |
| A very busy week. Year-end at the firm can really take it out of you. Am really behind in what I need to get done.
Had a good review and a decent COL raise. Still wish I had a less stressful job though.
Gave platlets again Sunday. 1 quart away from 17 gal. Also gave plasma. Watched "Along came Polly". Thought it was a cute film.
Talked to my kids tonight. I sure do miss them. It is very true that you pay for your actions for the rest of you life. To miss watching your kids grow up is very painful. To watch then cry when you leave from a visit tares at your heart. I am just very thankful that I have any relationship with my kids. That they have made me very proud of them.
Good night all. | | |
| Well, it has been a nice two weeks.
Last weekend I went to two concerts, Rescue and Portland Taiko. Rescue was great. They are a group sings acapella. They have a bass that is in the the book of world records as hitting the lowest note. He sang Amazing Grace as a solo. He made the speakers rattle....
Also that night went to Portland Taiko. This has been the 5th time I have seen them. They are also great and well worth seeing if they are ever in your area.
This weekend our church had a WWC (walla walla college) seminar on end time prophecies. Jon Paulien spoke and was fantastic. He is professor of New Testament at Andrews. I also went to GNYA with him many years ago. He was a senior when I was a freshman. Anyway the weekend was very inspirational.
Still having nice weather here. But the rains, they are a coming!
Until next time, | | |
| Did Race for the Cure Sunday. Very sobering experience. They said about 37,000 people were there. Seeing all the pink shirts really made you think. Pink shirts ment they were cancer survivors. Had a nice time with Ruby, Teresa and Jordan.
Watching the Seinfeld episode when George and Jerry are pitching a TV show to NBC about nothing. Don't really know why I mention this.....
Did sound at church this Sabbath. Did my usual great job. Did miss one que.
Good night world. | | |
| Had a nice weekend. Went to Long Beach WA in the motorhome. Long Beach is the longest beach in the world, so they say. You can drive on this beach too. We walked to town and back on the beach. Saw a van get stuck and they have guys in 4-wheel drive pickups driving around to pull vehicles out. Saw one place that it could cost $50-$100 to have you pulled free. High price for being able to drive on the beach...... Had very nice weather. Watched the sun go down on Sunday night. It took only 4 minutes from when the sun touched the horizon to it disappearing. Is a nice sandy beach. Not rocky like oregon beaches.
Ruby has to work this weekend. She was off today and put up 28 quarts of pears from our tree. Gave a way alot too.
Well it is late. Doing Race for the Cure walk in a week. They are expecting 40,000 people. First time for me. Teresa and Jordan are coming up. This is Ruby's 17th year since her cancer. We are very thankful.
Work has been very busy. Budget time. I don't like budget time.
Well goodnight all. Will call you soon kids......
